Maniac Animals Vol. 1 cover

Now, I have never heard of Looters Paradise (and apparently nobody else has either judging from their home page) but… try to pickup a copy of Maniac Animals Vol. 1 being sold through Lulu's marketplace. If this is the first of the Maniac Animals series than this would be a great rare find, issues one through six are elusive on Yahoo! Japan Auctions and nonexistant through traditional online shops 1.

The Looters Paradise homepage is small on content, but they have a betteroverview on Lulu's product page:

Looters Paradise presents the first volume of Okawari Jiyuu's Maniac Animals Doujinshi. Presented with the full cooperation and participation of the artist and available for the first time outside Japan, this new edition collects three of Okawari's erotic comics featuring anthromorphic furry characters in a single volume. This 56 page collection contains 3 complete stories under a brand new full color cover.

One thing I don't understand though is that the Manianima 「まにあにま」 homepage has not reflected or informed visitors about the foreign release. Time will tell. Check out the previews @ Looters Paradise… The first good thing to come out of 4chan in quite a long time.

Let me answer some of your questions about Maniac Animals and Looters Paradise.

First off, Looters Paradise is a brand new company and Maniac Animals is our first title. We’ll be releaseing more books this summer, but for the moment we only have the one product.

Our version of Maniac Animals is produced with Okawari Jiyuu’s full cooperation, and he choose the 3 stories ( and several additional pages of art) that appear in the first volume. However, it looks like we won’t be publishing the stories in the same order they appeared in Japan. We’ll instead publish them in the order Okawari sends them to us. We do hope to eventually publish all of Okawari’s Maniac Animals material.

While Okawari has been very involved and supportive of this project he has decided not to mention it on his site. I’m not sure why this is the case, but that’s certainly his choice. He’s a busy guy and he may just have not gotten around to it. Or there may be another reason.

Thanks for taking the time and space to mention our book. I’m always happy to answer any questions.
